There was a plant that was blooming profusely along the roadsides, bright yellow and pretty. We asked what it was and the locals told us it was Scotch Broom. It had somewhat of a chemical smell, and tends to be a plant that likes to take over. They try to kill as much as they can to control it, but it is hard to kill.
